Senator representing Delta South Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Joel Onowakpo-Thomas has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for assenting to the Bill Establishing Federal Medical Centre, Oleh, headquarters of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Describing the landmark federal project in Delta South Senatorial District as a milestone for healthcare delivery and equitable development, the Senator representing the Senatorial District, Joel Onowakpo-Thomas who, of course, sponsored the Bill, thanked the President for his timely assent to the Bill.

Senator Onowakpo in a statement noted that the President timely assent to the Bill for Establishing the Federal Medical Centre in Delta South “is a move that demonstrates the President’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and addressing regional development gaps.Geographic Reference”.

The Distinguished Senator, used the occasion to express profound appreciation to the leadership and members of the National Assembly for their committed support for the Bill whose effort facilitated the quick passing of the Bill for it to be ready for the President’s assent.

He specifically, he also expressed appreciation to the Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, and Senate Leader Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, for supporting the passage of the legislation.

Senator Onowakpo also commended the effort of High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) and Mr. Matthew Tonlagha for their encouragement and support throughout the legislative process.

Onowakpo noted that, “the Federal Medical Centre in Oleh is the first of its kind in Delta South Senatorial District and will improve access to quality healthcare for residents, especially communities affected by years of crude oil exploration”.

The national lawmaker also noted that “the new medical centre would provide better healthcare services, reduce the region’s longstanding challenges in accessing specialist medical care, and contribute to the overall development of Delta South.

“The achievement reflects the impact of purposeful representation and pledged to continue attracting more development projects to the senatorial district”.
