Delta State APC Chieftain and leader of the party in Ethiope West Oghara Ward 8, Chief Dr. Henry Ogheneochuko Ofa has commended the effort of two Councillors representing the Ward, Hon. Godstime and Hon. Ejimiyoma (who is the leader of the legislative house) for extending the dividend of democracy by doling out the sun of N50,000.00 (Fifty thousand naira each to nominated grassroots members of the ward.
Ofa who expressed profound appreciation to the the two Councillors, in a statement, also commended the Local Government Council chairman, Pastor Christian Onogba for his support and encouragement of the two patriotic Councillors.
The Ame of Oghara kingdom and former Commissioner for DESOPADEC, further commended the two Councillors not only for consulting and seeking nominations from party leaders in Ward 8, but they considered his nominees as beneficiaries for the empowerment.
“On behalf of my nominees, whom both of you, as Councillors representing Ward 8, empowered today with the sum of ₦50,000 each at the Council Secretariat, I wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to you both.
“I also wish to sincerely appreciate the Council Chairman for extending his hand of support to the Councillors and creating the enabling environment that made this laudable gesture possible. His support and encouragement have clearly demonstrated a commitment to ensuring that the Councillors are able to reach out meaningfully to the people they represent”, Ofa stated.
Ofa who is also a former Secretary of State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), thanked the Councillors for giving him opportunity to nominate beneficiaries for the empowerment, adding that it was indeed a mark of humility and respect for leaders in the ward just as he commended the two members of the legislative arm for the gestures.
“Beyond the financial support itself, I deeply appreciate your(counselors ) humility and the respect you demonstrated by requesting nominations from me and other leaders of ward 8. This is noble, thoughtful, and highly commendable. You (the counselors) have truly shown compassion and genuine concern for the welfare of our people.
“I must commend you for not only seeking nominations but also following through with your promise by presenting the stipends to the beneficiaries. The joy and excitement expressed by the beneficiaries today clearly showed how meaningful this gesture is to them.
“I equally commend the Council Chairman Pastor Onogba,and the Councillors for this initiative and sincerely pray for its sustainability and continuity, so that more constituents can continue to benefit from such acts of support”, he stated.
While praying and encouraging the Councillors to do more and reach out to more people, Ofa noted that the gesture was indeed a demonstration of the APC’s hallmark of empathy, concern and human capital development for the people.
“It is encouraging to see the APC, through the Council and its representatives, demonstrating empathy and concern for the people, particularly by providing practical support that directly touches the lives of constituents.
“May God continue to bless the Council Chairman and the Councillors of Ward 8. May He grant you wisdom, strength, favour, and the resources to continue serving the people effectively. May He also grant you your heart’s desires and guide you as you pursue your plans and aspirations for the people.
“We deeply cherish this gesture and do not take it for granted. I remain grateful for the honour and opportunity to nominate some of the beneficiaries, and I will continue to appreciate and support every genuine effort aimed at bringing meaningful benefits to our people”, he concluded.
