*Says We’re Already Preparing To Celebrate

Less than hundred days to the general election, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC and national coordinator of Option A for PBAT/GSFOO, Comrade Evangelist Olumami Oritsejolone Oyibo, has declared that the incumbent President, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu governor and His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori are as good as having been re-elected the next President of Nigeria and the next governor of Delta State respectively.
Comrade Oyibo who made this declaration while fielding questions from newsmen during an interview in Asaba recently, stated that all that the members are concerned with in the State now is the preparation for celebration, adding that the APC is the party to beat in the forthcoming election in 2027.
“We are very confident that the governor of this state, I’m talking of GSFOO, Governor Sheriff Francis Orowhedo Oborevwori, is as good as been elected as the next governor of this state. His election is not in doubt. We are just preparing for that day to celebrate. That is the position in the state today.
“By the grace of God, APC is the party to beat as far as the election coming up in January, 2027 is concerned. I say this without any equivocation.
“With structure we have on ground, and the caliber of men running and driving the party – from the state chairman, I’m talking of Chief Solomon Areyenka, a leader of the party and the leadership at the state, we have Chief Okoh, in fact, all the persons in the state executive of the party today, they are veteran politicians. We have former Local Government chairmen there and we have former Commissioners. They are the people driving the party.
“And of course, if you look at the party from the state down to the local government level, we have our structure on ground. The truth of the matter is that politics is about structure, it is about what you have on ground, it is not a social media campaign, or just making noise.
“We are not just talking about the governor alone, we are campaigning for our principal, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, PBAT. And that is why our campaign structure and organization is called Option A for PBAT/GSFOO. These are the people we campaigning for and with the both of them, we believe that APC is good to go”, Comrade Oyibo assured.
Emphasizing further on the preparation to deliver the party’s candidates in the forthcoming election, Oyibo noted that their target in all the three Senatorial Districts is to win 5/5, pointing out that it is the reason why his organization is concentrating campaigns at the Local Government leadership and workers level.
“In all Senatorial Districts, our target is 5/5. Our target is not just to talk in the social media, our target is to go straight to the grassroots. That is why we are set to capture the Local Government leadership and workers. Our is a grassroots movement. It is a door-to-door campaign”, he said.
Speaking on the performance of Gov. Oborevwori so far, Oyibo said that he has brought about a great transformation across the state, noting that he has been tested and he has demonstrated that he has what it takes to turn the State around.
“First of all I would start with our own governor, Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori. We are witnesses to the fact that when he wanted to become governor the first time, a lot of people did not give him chance. But today, he has been tested and the people of Delta State have realized that he has demonstrated capacity, knowledge and the wherewithal to turn the State around.
“The MORE Agenda which he put in place, he has been able to show to Deltans that he can milk water out of stone. We can see the massive transformation taking place in the state now.
“Those who traveled out of Warri, five years ago, if they come back now, they won’t be able to find their way. We are talking about massive road development and bridges.
“Something that Gov. Oborevwori did that really surprised me was the construction of the Trans-Warri-Ode Itsekiri road where he was able to construct about 15 culverts and bridges so that in ten to fifteen minutes you are already there in Ode-Itsekiri. That is a major development”, Oyibo noted.
He also hailed Gov. Oborevwori for the massive infrastructural development he embarked on especially in the riverine area of the State which is characterized by very difficult terrain, adding that it was shocking how he is linking the rural riverine communities with good roads, culverts and bridges.
According to him no sane person in the entire Delta South Senatorial District who will not cast his vote for Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori come February 16, 2027.
“That he is able to carry out road construction in the riverine areas is something that is shocking. Constructing bridges and culverts to link the interiors, places that can only be accessed through canoes and boats is unimaginable. The fact that he has been able to address the problem with the riverine areas, is something that everybody should appreciate. And I want to believe that no person from Delta South, either from Bomadi, Patani, Burutu, Warri South or Warri South West need to be told before he or she goes to cast their votes for Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori “, he said.
Comrade Oyibo also highlighted the Governor’s performance in terms of education and human capital development, adding that “no governor in the country has attended to the interest and welfare civil servants and workers as Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori “.
“As I speak to you he has put in place machinery whereby workers will be paid 13th months salary at the end of the year. Not just that, he has gone ahead to put in place a legal framework and institutionalized through the House of Assembly so that it will continue as a law even after he completes his tenure and left office”.
Oyibo also disclosed that the governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has approved the raise of promotion bar of graduate teachers in primary schools from level 14 up to level 17, adding that civil servants and teachers across board are “getting their salaries as at when due.”
On President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Comrade Oyibo described him as a very fearless and courageous politician.
“This President knew what he was coming to do. He knew the problems of Nigeria and he was prepared to tackle them headlong. President Tinubu is a fearless and courageous politician. The problem that Tinubu met has been there for many years and nobody and nobody has been able to confront it. He has come to confront it, not just because of today alone, but because of tomorrow and I can tell you today that you cannot bake an omelette without breaking an egg and nobody can get to eldorado without passing through the mill.
“People are saying there is hunger in the land, but what are the long term benefits? Removal of subsidy led to fund being available for the down-trodden. Today none of all the 36 states of the federation including the FCT is owing workers salary.
“Today, Tinubu has been able to put funds in the Pension Fund to the extent that Pensioners who for years have not been paid, have all their arrears been paid.
“As I speak to you, if you have a child in a public school, all he needs to do is for the child to apply to Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELFUND and his school fees are paid with extra N20,000.00 as upkeep money.
“These and many others are the benefits of the subsidy removal. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done very well. So, I want to tell you that PBAT has done very well, PBAT is with the people, PBAT is doing a lot and PBAT is focus on tomorrow”, he said.
