APC Leaders and Stakeholders from the eight Local Government Areas of Delta Central Senatorial District have met to strategize on how to secure hundred percent victory for the party candidates in the 2027 general election just as they passed a vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori and other flagbearers of the party.
Addressing party leaders and Stakeholders in a well-attended meeting in PTI Conference Centre on Sunday, July 26, 2026, the APC Delta Central chairman and State vice chairman of the party, Chief Paulinus Akpeki noted that the purpose of the meeting was to engage in serious planning towards the general election which barely six months away from now.
“Today’s gathering is not for long speeches but a time for introspection, honest engagement, strategic planning, reconciliation where necessary and collective resolve to secure victory for our party at every level in the forthcoming general election”, he stated.
Chief Akpeki further emphasized that the unity and synergy of all stakeholders was necessary to secure overwhelming victory for the party in 2027, adding that though it was a huge success for the emergence of the party’s flagbearers in the primary election, heavy responsibility lies ahead for the party to deliver all its flagbearers in the forthcoming general election.
“However, while we celebrate this success, must recognize that we are faced with enormous responsibility. The unity we currently enjoy must not be taken for granted. It must be deliberately nurtured, protected and respected every single day.
“We, the Urhobo people who predominantly constitute Delta Central Senatorial District, must take our destiny in our own hands now by closing ranks and wholeheartedly throwing our weight and our unalloyed support behind the re-election bids of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR in the 2027 election and His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori”, he reiterated.
Akpeki also attributed the success so far recorded in the State in terms of peace, unity and development to the shrewdness in the governance to the Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, congratulating him for his emergence as the party’s flagbearer for the 2027 governorship election.
“Let me once again happily congratulate the leader of our great party and governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, on his emergence as the official flagbearer of our party in the 2027 governorship election.
“It is not only a personal victory, it is about the confidence which the party has reposed on your leadership. Your capacity, remarkable achievement in governance and your unwavering commitment peace, stability, unity and the unprecedented development of Delta State.
“Your style of leadership has demonstrated that politics can be played with maturity, inclusiveness and respect for democratic principles. You have consistently shown the ability to unite diverse interests, inspire confidence and provide purposeful leadership at a time when our State required experience and visionary direction”, he stated.
The founding leader of the party in the state, Olorogun O’rtega Emerhon moved a motion for the endorsement of the APC flagbearers for the 2027 election, President, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR and Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori, Senator Ede Dafinone, Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, Hon. Francis Waive and other flagbearers of the State House of Assembly for a second term in office.
“I, Olorogun O’rtega Emerhon therefore rise to move the following motion; that APC, having successfully conducted primary election for candidates for the forthcoming general elections, 2027, that we, APC in Delta Central and the whole of Urhobo people in Delta Central, here by move to endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as our sole candidate for the presidency.
“We also rise to adopt His Excellency Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori for governor as our sole candidate for Delta State. We also rise to endorse Senator Ede Dafinone as our sole candidate for Delta Central. We also rise to adopt all our other candidates of APC in Delta Central. And that we, Urhobo of Delta Central will vote hundred percent to elect them. I so move”.
The motion was seconded by Hon. John Halims Agoda and put to vote by the State chairman of APC, Chief Solomon Arenyeka followed by a thunderous ‘ayes’ from the crowded hall.
Other party leaders who spoke at the event include Senator representing Delta Central, Distinguished Senator Ede Dafinone, Hon. Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, Director, NEXIM Bank, Hon. Stella Okotete, State party chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, Chief Ighoyota Amori, Chief John Oguma, amongst others.
