Former President General Oghara Elite Forum (OEF) Ethiope West and former Commissioner in DESOPADEC, Chief Dr. Ofa Henry Ogheneochuko Ph.D JP, has applauded the stellar performance of Tantitas Company Ltd in the execution of the Oil Pipelines Surveillance Contract awarded to it by the federal government a few years ago, just as he urged Niger Deltans to give the company and other sub-contractors involved in the security initiative, space to consolidate on the tangible and verifiable achievements that has so far reflected in the oil production sector.
Ofa who gave this indication in a press release recently, noted that there are copious evidence of the stellar performance by Tantitas Company on the delivery of the Pipelines Security and Surveillance Contract it has been handling on behalf of the federal government for the past two years or so.
He recounted that Tantitas Company and its chairman, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo as well as other contractors involved in the contract have done their job so well that it has led to higher oil output, increased National Revenue, more funds for development, more resources for infrastructure, health care as well as improvement in education.
Ofa noted that it was not the first time the oil pipelines security and surveillance contract was given out by the federal government, adding that in the distant past such initiatives have not yielded any significant improvements in oil production.
“For years, similar surveillance arrangements yielded little or no meaningful improvement in oil production. However, since Tompolo (Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited) – who understands the terrain and security dynamics of the creeks -assumed responsibility, there has been a significant turnaround in Nigeria’s oil output.
“The pipeline surveillance contract under the supervision of Tompolo, has proven to be a strategic national success. It has increased oil production, strengthened the economy, created jobs, and enhanced security across the Niger Delta.
“More Funds for Development as
Government now has more resources for infrastructure, healthcare, and education.
“It has led to the strengthening of Local Refining Capacity, improved crude supply directly to the operations of Dangote Refinery and other local refineries, as well as reduction of dependence on imports and enhancing energy security.
“It has also led to mass youth employment as thousands of Niger Delta youths are now gainfully employed through this initiative.
“Vicious crimes and insecurity,
Illegal bunkering and pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta have reduced drastically”, Ofa offered.
The former DESOPADEC Commissioner who admitted that a few dissenting voices have the constitutional rights to exercise their freedom of speech, however cautioned them not to submit themselves”to be used to sabotage their own future”.
He solicited the youths’ support for the government initiative which has attracted “tangible development, promote unity, peace, regional stability and respect for the position and wisdom of Traditional Rulers”.
Ofa further cautioned that “agitation
against this contract, especially in the face of clear benefits and unified traditional backing, is not only counterproductive, it undermines both progress and authority within the region”.
It would be recalled that traditional Rulers from across Delta State met the Uvwie Monarch palace in Effurun where they adopted a position of support for Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, the company that has been operating a contract of pipelines security and surveillance awarded by the federal government.
Dr. Ofa used the occasion to commend the Traditional Rulers on their well articulated position as presented by the monarch of Idjerhe kingdom, HRM King Monday Obukohwo Whiskey, P.hD, for “galvanizing other monarchs to stand firmly in support of what is working for the region”.
