*Assures he’ll unite Delta State

The internal wranglings and leadership tussle that have torn apart the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State for sometime now, appears to have been resolved with the coming into the party of Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori as he has assumed leadership and enjoined all party members to queue behind him in the interest of peace and development of the State.
Oborevwori who was addressing a mammoth crowd of APC stakeholders and supporters including the party’s national chairman, Dr. Abdullai Ganduje and the Vice President, Alh Ibrahim Shettima, disclosed that his joining the party with the entire structure of the PDP was, indeed, a movement that is poised to succeed and unite the party and the entire State for peace and development.
The governor who also stated that there are other governors still preparing to embark on the movement to the APC, also vowed that he did not recognize any tendency or faction in the party in the State, adding that everybody must queue behind him and work towards the overall progress of the State.
“The (defection) is a movement and when you have a movement you don’t fail. I want to assure our national chairman, as I have come there will be no more faction again.
“APC is not like PDP. The governor takes charge. And we have taken charge. Whether it is the faction of Ovie Omo-Agege, whether it is the faction of Festus Keyamo, I don’t believe in any faction. Everybody must queue. I’ll unite this State. And it will bring development, it will bring peace and unity in the State”, Gov. Oborevwori said.

His Excellency, Alhaji Ibrahim Shettima Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has described the defection of Dr Ifeanyi Okowa former Governor of Delta State and His Excellency RT.Hon .Sheriff Oborevwori Governor of Delta State,
“As a Political Tsunami that has never happened before in the Political History of the South South.”
While welcoming Governor Oborevwori , his predecessor and the entire structure of the PDP into the APC, the Vice President stressed that they were “welcome as brothers and sisters”, adding that their entrance has once again revive the spirit and oneness of the Nigerian Project.
The VP further emphasized that the party’s Constitution is clear on the leadership structure of the party, stating that the Governor ( Oborevwori) is the Leader of the party in the State just as he expressed gratitude that his entrance has further highlighted the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President.
On his part, the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Abdullai Ganduje Alhaji commended the “Outstanding and good relationship between former Governor Okowa and Governor Oborevwori” just as he praised Governor Oborevwori for his “Progressive Performance which is the Core value and Principle of the APC”.
