Ede Dafinone’s streak of achievement as the Distinguised Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has attracted recognition by his constituents who have rewarded him with Integrity Award of Effective Legislative Representation.
The group, Urhobo People Integrity Organisation (UPIO), bestowed the prestigious award on the Distinguished Senator during its 2025 Award ceremony held on Monday December, 22 at Bon Hotel, Ekpan, Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State.
Led by its President, Olorogun Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu, the event attracted distinguished Urhobo sons and daughters who converged to celebrate public officers of Urhobo extraction who have distinguished themselves in their various endeavors and whose positive impact on the Urhobo nation is recognized.
In his address at the occasion, Olorogun Okorodudu disclosed that the group’s award on Senator Dafinone was in recognition of his “immeasurable contributions to the growth and development of the Urhobo nation”.
Okorodudu recalled the Senator’s “pivotal role in restoring peace to Okuama Community after the military attack”, particularly the release of the Ewu monarch, HRM Clement Ikolo from military detention.
In his response, Senator Dafinone who was represented by his chief of staff, Olorogun Barr. Adelabu Bodjor, thanked the group for the recognition, adding that the award would spur him to do more for the Urhobo nation.
“It is a motivation for me to do more for the people at all levels. I assure you of my continued partnership and support”, he reiterated.
The Senator also “reaffirmed his commitment to people-focused representation anchored on peace-building, justice, and development across Urhoboland”.
The highpoint of the event was the formal presentation of the award to Senator Dafinone on behalf of UPIO, by the Ovie of Ewu Kingdom monarch to Olorogun Barr. Adelabu Bodjor, who received it on behalf of the Senator.
The ceremony which chaired by the UPU President-General, Olorogun Barr. Ese Gam Owe, was attended by prominent Urhobo sons and daughters from across the state.
In his remarks, the UPU PG, Olorogun Owe, thanked Senator Dafinone for his streak of achievement in the Senate just as he charged him to promote and protect the interest of Urhobo at all times.
Olorogun Ese Gam Owe also used the occasion to call in all sons and daughters at home and in the Diaspora to attract development to the Urhobo nation.
