As Mrs. Gloria Igumbor, takes a bow from the State Nursing Services as Director, the huge legacies she left behind speak volume for her.
Indeed, Mrs. Igumbor’s tenure has been characterized by positive development in the Nursing Services sector of the state and she is leaving the office much better than she met it.
There are ample evidences to show that Mrs. Gloria Igumbor in her tenure as the Director of Nursing Services in the State, succeeded in raising the standard
of training and practice of that noble profession to an enviable height and also succeeded in putting Delta State in the front row amongst the comity of States of the federation where Nursing institutions have been considered qualified for the upgrade of Schools of Nursing to full Colleges of Nursing Sciences.
The sustained efforts of Mrs. Gloria Igumbor, as Director of Nursing Services,.backed by the State government, yielded positive result that secured the approval for all the three state government-owned Schools of Nursing in Agbor, Asaba, Eku and Warri, to be upgraded to the status of Colleges of Nursing Sciences.
She had also commenced the move, using her wide contacts, to secure approval for the State School of Midwifery in Amukpe-Sapele to be upgraded to a College of Nursing and Midwifery Sciences.
As Mrs. Igumbor takes a bow out of the Nursing Services department, she is satisfied that she has put in her best just as it could be confirmed that she had a very cordial relationship with her subordinates as well as others who were her superiors in the Health Ministry.
Mrs. Igumbor’s tenure could also be remembered by the manner she exhibited discipline in complying with all professional rules and procedures which ensured sustained standard and quality service delivery while she remained humble and committed to her duties.
It is believed that she will also put her experiences to bear in her new assignment and repeat the feat she achieved in the Nursing Services department.
