APC Reconciliation Report: Delta State SWC Notifies National Chair, Passes Vote Of Confidence On Sobotie

With the submission of the report of the Ad-hoc Reconciliation Committee set up by the leadership of the All Progressives Congres, APC, an enlarged meeting of the State Working Committee, SWC, has passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of Elder Omeni Sobotie.

In a well-attended emergency meeting of the of the SWC that took place on the 13th August, 2024 at the State Secretariat, Asaba, presided over by the State Chairman Elder Omeni Sobotie, the report of the Ad hoc Reconciliation Committee was considered, adopted and passed by the entire house.

In a letter addressed to the National Chairman of the party, H.E. Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the enlarged meeting notified the National Chairman of its resolution, which included the overwhelming vote of confidence on the incumbent State chairman.

The Resolutions reached at the meeting which were communicated to the National Chairman in a letter titled ‘Notice of Vote of Confidence Unanimously Passed On Delta State Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, By State Working Committee’, include:

1. That the report of the Adhoc Reconciliation Committee of the State Working Committee led by the State Deputy Chairman, Barr. Francis Obigbor that interfaced with critical leaders of the Party, was presented to the house through the Secretary of the Committee, Mr. William Deniran, the State Financial Secretary and adopted as a working document.

2. That the recommendations of the Adhoc Reconciliation Committee which were far reaching and goes towards achieving a sustainable and lasting peace in the Party, particularly resolving once and for all, the thorny issue of a rock solid assurance guaranteeing the recognition of critical leaders as joint stakeholders of the structure of the Party, was passed and adopted by the SWC.

3. The resolution that a meeting of the State Working Committee and critical leaders of the Party is to be summoned within the shortest possible time was passed and adopted by SWC.

4. That a Vote of Confidence resolution on the State Chairman Elder Omeni Sobotie was passed and unanimously adopted by the entire SWC.

In attendance at the emergency meeting are: Elder Omeni Sobotie – State Chairman, Barr. Francis Obigbor – Deputy State Chairman, Surv. Peter Akarogbe -State Secretary, Chief Paulinus Akpeki-State Vice Chairman, Delta Central, Ogbueshi Adizue Eluaka-State – Vice Chairman, Delta North and Ogbueshi Anselm Onianwa – Asst. State Secretary.

Others include: Prince Fred Mordi – State Treasurer, Hon. Ejogbamu Johnson – State Organizing Secretary,
Barr. Ben Elu – State Legal Adviser, Evang. Tina Okwudili-State – Woman Leader, Mr. William Deniran – State Financial Secretary and Valentine Onojeghuo Esq -.State Publicity Secretary.

Also in attendance are Mudiaga Okorefe – State Special Leader, Mr. Paul Azorbo Amabiri – State Auditor, Mr. Napoleon Kenerekedi – State Youth Leader, Mrs. Hermia Akpomeyoma – Asst. State Woman Leader and Mrs. Hoplyn Ayu -State Welfare Secretary.

The letter which was signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, Esq. was copied to the National Secretary of the Party, the National Vice Chairman, South-South, All Progressives Congress and All Members of the National Working Committee.

It would be recalled that the Ad hoc Reconciliation Committee led by the State Deputy Chairman, Barr. Francis Obigbor was inaugurated sometime in April, 2024 with the aim of interfacing with critical leaders of the party in the State.
