Exactly a year before the 2027 general election, a youth group, Youths for Proactive Governance has appealed to Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District to throw his hat in the ring for a second term run in 2027.

The group led by its President, Comrade Blessing Udoh and the Secretary, Benjamin Egwe, made the call in their recent joint meeting held in Adeje, Okpe Local Government Area.

According to the group, Senator Dafinone’s performance so far is superlative, stating that he has demonstrated an unwavering commitment and dedication in service to his constituents.

It is against this backdrop of his excellent performance that prompted the group to sincerely appeal to the Senator seek for a second term in order to consolidate in his achievement which he has recorded so far.

The group further said that Senator Dafinone has remained proactive and effective at the National Assembly, consistently sponsoring and supporting people-oriented bills that align with the aspirations of his constituents. They noted that his engagement at the Red Chamber has been driven by courage, clarity of purpose and a strong commitment to delivering tangible results for Delta Central.

The youths commended the Senator for his empowerment initiatives and his deliberate efforts at opening doors for qualified Urhobo youths through strategic employment recommendations at various levels.

They also applauded his role in ensuring that deserving sons and daughters of the Urhobo Nation, particularly those from Delta Central, receive long-overdue promotions and recognition across critical sectors of the economy.

In a strongly worded statement, the group made a passionate appeal to the lawmaker to return for a second term, insisting that his leadership remains vital to the continued progress of the district.

“We, the youths of Delta Central, want to use this medium to, as a matter of urgency, call on Senator Ede Dafinone to re-contest for a second tenure so that he can continue the good work God has entrusted into his hands for the benefit of his people,” the group stated.

They stressed that since assuming office, Senator Dafinone has distinguished himself as a vocal, pragmatic and well-coordinated legislator, whose leadership style reflects accountability, accessibility and responsiveness to the needs of the people.

Reaffirming their confidence in his representation, the youths added:
“In terms of empowerment, representation, and advocacy, Senator Dafinone has done remarkably well. We therefore urge the good people of Delta Central Senatorial District to re-elect him come 2027.”

The group concluded by describing Senator Dafinone as a people-oriented leader whose influence and political reach extend across the eight local government areas of Delta Central and beyond, noting that his leadership continues to resonate strongly with constituents at the grassroots.

It would be recalled that the immediate past Senator who represented Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege who is from Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu federal Constituency, did two terms, a situation which afforded him to become a principal member in the Senate.
