APC Governorship Candidate for Delta State, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has vowed that Deltans will bury Gov. Okowa’s Vice-presidential ambition because that is not what the people of Southern Nigeria want.
Omo-Agege who stated this at Tuomo, Burutu LGA, in continuation of the APC political campaigns across the state, noted that Okowa’s preference for the position of a Vice-President as against the position of a president for southern Nigeria, was not only treacherous, but punishable, adding that the ambition will be buried in the March, 2023 Governorship election.
“Thank God the election is about three months away. We have decided that on that election day, the people of Burutu will punish Okowa. We are going to ensure that his ill-conceived ambition to become the vice president is cut down and buried.
“We are going to bury that ambition in the sea because that ambition to become vice president is a bad ambition. It is a treacherous ambition. God has already shared the position of a President to the South.
“So, we don’t want a vice president position. It is a president position that we want. We want a President that will remember Burutu. We want a President that will bring a Tertiary Institution to Ijaw land”, Omo-Agege said.
Omo-Agege also informed the people that it will be dangerous to vote for a governor who will be a stooge to Okowa, adding that “we don’t want a boy-boy as governor”. “We want a governor who is courageous, somebody who is educated and somebody who will have your interest at heart”, he added.
He urged the people to vote for him to become the next governor, pointing out that he has as one of the programme contained in his manifesto, to create jobs for the youths and empowerment for the women through government-guaranteed bank loans to set up their businesses.
Earlier in Bomadi, Omo-Agege had promised to fix the Ohoro-Bomadi road which was seriously damaged by the last flood including the collapsed bridge, Akugbene Road, the Gbaregolor bridge and also to attract a Tertiary institution to Ijaw land.
He also promised to connect Bomadi to the national electricity grid through Ughelli, adding that he will need the help of the President to fulfill his promises.
The Governorship candidate therefore urged Bomadi, Burutu and, indeed, other parts of Ijaw land to vote massively for all APC Candidates including Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President, himself as Governor and all National Assembly and House of Assembly candidate to power in order to stop the PDP oppressive Government.
High point of the occasions was the reception of several decampees from the PDP including Mr. Ekenwan Akwagbe and former Burutu LGA PDP Secretary, Mr. Clement Ereide.
Also on the Campaign trail of the APC are the Deputy Governorship Candidate, Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi, the State Chairman of the party, Elder Omeni Sobotie, the Director-General of the Campaign Council, Elder Godsday Orubebe, among other party chieftains.
