Delta: Oborevwori Signs N1.7 Trillion 2026 Appropriation Bill Into Law, Wishes Deltans Merry Xmas, Prosperous New Year

Delta State Governor, His Excellency Rt. Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori has, today, signed the 2026 Budget Appropriation Bill of ₦1.729 trillion Into Law, signalling another phase of the MORE agenda loading to unveil as New Year gift for Deltans.

Appending the Red signature assent to the Bill tagged “Budget of Accelerating the MORE Agenda,” in his office today, Gov. Oborevwori gave a summary of the budget to include 70% for capital expenditure and 30% expenditure set aside for recurrent expenditure.

“Today, I signed the 2026 Appropriation Bill of ₦1.729 trillion, along with other bills, into law. Tagged “Budget of Accelerating the MORE Agenda,” 70 per cent of the budget size is dedicated to Capital Expenditure, while 30 per cent is allocated to Recurrent Expenditure”, he said.

Gov. Oborevwori also used the occasion to sign into law a few other bills which are very relevant to the progress of the state as 2025 is gradually giving way to an expected prosperous new year, 2026.

The other bills signed to law by the Executive Governor include the Delta State Social Investment Programme, the Delta State Colleges of Education Law, 2025, and the Delta State Anti-Terrorism and Anti-Cultism (Amendment) Law.

“I also signed into law: (1) the Delta State Social Investment Programme Law; (2) the Delta State Colleges of Education Law, 2025; and (3) the Delta State Anti-Terrorism and Anti-Cultism (Amendment) Law”, he stated.

“I used the opportunity of the budget signing to wish Deltans and residents a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year”, the Governor wished Deltans.
