Health Care: Dafinone, NHF, Collaborate On Free Diabetes Testing, Awareness Outreach Across Delta Central

In continuation of his uncommon empowerment project, the Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Distinguished Senator Ede Dafinone, in collaboration with an NGO, the Diabetes Sensitization and Testing Medical Outreach, is carrying out free elaborate testing, sensitization and community education on his constituents beginning from October 1, 2025.

A release from the office of the Senator stated that the medical outreach themed: “Come Check Your Sugar Level O” is scheduled to hold between Wednesday October 1, 2025 and Sunday October 18, 2025 in different Centres across the 8 Local Government Areas of Delta Central.

The statement stressed on the danger associated with diabetes which include kidney failure, stroke, blindness and even death, if left undetected early enough. Which is why the Office of the Senator, Ede Dafinone is collaborating with the National Health Fellows to provide free testing and sensitization across the Senatorial District.

“The Office of Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, in collaboration with the National Health Fellows, announces the launch of the Delta Central Diabetes Sensitization and Testing Medical Outreach, scheduled to hold from 1st – 18th October, 2025 across all eight Local Government Areas in the district.

“Diabetes remains one of the fastest-growing health challenges in Nigeria, with many cases going undetected until complications such as kidney failure, blindness, stroke, or even death arise. Unfortunately, access to routine testing and preventive care remains limited for many residents in Delta Central”, the statement noted.

The statement further stressed that the exercise is made free, being part of the uncommon empowerment initiative of the Delta Central Senator, clearly, “emphasizes prevention, lifestyle modification, and community awareness as critical tools in reducing the burden of diabetes”.

It also emphasized that the initiative is committed towards”promoting awareness, encouraging early testing, and linking residents with continuous support, the outreach contributes to reducing preventable deaths and advancing public health in Delta Central.

“This initiative not only reflects Senator Ede Dafinone’s commitment to quality healthcare but also strengthens grassroots health systems through collaboration with the National Health Fellows”, the statement added.
