The Orubebe-led Delta APC Subcommittee on reconciliation of aggrieved members of the party meeting continues today with leaders and stakeholders from Delta Central Senatorial District as it calls for forgiveness and cooperation especially amongst leaders.
The chairman of the Sub-Committee, Elder Godsday Orubebe, while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after the closed door meeting in PTI Conference Centre, Effurun today 25/9/24, stated that the Committee was able to impress on the delegates of the need for forgiveness, accommodation and togetherness to move the party forward.
He stated that so far so good, the people have responded positively, adding that the reconciliation process was succeeding as members aired their grievances and are ready to cooperate and work as a team, in the interest of the party.
“Today we met with delegates from Delta Central and as much as possible we were able to make everybody, particularly the people from the grassroots to understand the need for us to come together.
“Whatever grievances they have been having or they had in the past, let there be forgiveness, let there be accommodation and let there be togetherness. And you could see that the meeting ended very well”, he said.
On the next move after interacting with the grassroots, Orubebe assured that the leaders will come around to hold an enlarged meeting with the grassroots where the needed unity and cooperation will be fully achieved and consummated.
He said: “We have been meeting with leaders separately and collectively at every given point. After we have gone round everywhere for these meetings, all the leaders will be around for the followers to see.
“And from that level you will begin to see the needed unity that will move the party forward.”
Orubebe also gave a strong assurance that there is sincerity of purpose among the various leaders of the party, adding that everybody is feeling the pains of the loss of the 2023 election and they have been talking to one another having realized that there is the need to work together as a team.
