It was indeed a full house in PTI Conference Centre, Effurun on Sunday, December 7, 2025 as leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress, APC, from Delta Central Senatorial District, reiterate their pledge and loyalty for a second tenure in office in 2027 for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.
This was the highpoint of the Delta Central APC meeting which was attended by leaders and stakeholders from Delta Central.
The roll-call include the Senator representing the District, Senator Ede Dafinone, member representing Ughelli North, Ughelli South & Udu federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, Delta State APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, APC chairman for Delta Central, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, Executive Director of NEXIM Bank, Hon. Stella Okotete and Founding Leader of the party in the State, Olorogun O’rtega Emerhor.
Also in attendance were State Commissioners from Delta Central, House of Assembly members from Delta Central, leaders and stakeholders including the Chief Adviser to the Governor, Chief Ighoyota Amori, chairmen and Councilors from Delta Central, Local Government party chairmen, Chairman of DESOPADEC, Olorogun Barr. John Nani amongst others.
In his opening remarks, the State chairman of the party, Elder Omeni Sobotie called for a stronger unity among Urhobo, adding that although as it seems now, Delta State is a one-party State, Delta Central Must demonstrate unity and cohesion to showcase numerical strength in 2027.
He reiterated that loyalty and commitment to the party would be the basis to achieve an overwhelming vote margin for the victory of the APC in 2027.
Speaking in the same vein, Senator Ede Dafinone noted structure and discipline was necessary to succeed in the next election, adding that scoring maximum votes determine the level of success.
“We are going forward as one. And that is the significance of the statement of structure. In the party, we need structure and discipline to succeed. And for success, we maximum votes for our President, our Governor and all other candidates of our party so that APC will carry the day in all the elections”, he advised.
The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo who also spoke during the occasion, disclosed the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing his best to make life better for Nigerians just the same way, according to him, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is doing his best for Deltans.
Keyamo stated that it is the responsibility of Deltans to pledge their unalloyed loyalty to both President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori.
“We have every reason to pledge our loyalty both to Mr. President and to the Governor of this state. We have adopted both of the as our candidates in 2027 before but as for today, I urge you all that we pledge our unreserved loyalty to the Governor and to our President”, Keyamo said while Senator Dafinone put the pledge for loyalty to vote, and there was an overwhelming ayes.
The Minister further reminded the party stakeholders that Congress was on the way, adding the members of the party in Delta Central “should see themselves as one as there is no faction in the state”. “All interest will be carried along”, he stressed.
Also addressing the meeting, the Founding Leader of the APC in the State, Olorogun O’rtega Emerhor reiterated that much as the members have adopted President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori As Presidential and Governorship of the party in 2027, the situation calls for hard work to achieve it.
“This mandate can only be delivered if we do our work. And the work must start from the grassroots”, he noted, adding that “we still have some indiscipline going on in Delta Central which must be tackle at the Local Government level”.
Others who spoke at the occasion include Hon. Stella Okotete and Chief Ighoyota Amori.
