Unity In Delta APC’ll Guarantee Free, Fair Access To FG’s Largesse – Sen. Dafinone

Unity In Delta APC’ll Guarantee Free, Fair Access To FG’s Largesse – Sen. Dafinone

By Victor Lewis

The recent political merger between APC and PDP parties in Delta State was actually given a solid definition in Asaba on Sunday October 12, 2025, when, for the first time, stakeholders and leaders from the two parties converged in Asaba for an inaugural meeting under the leadership of the party, His Excellency, Rt. Honourable, Sheriff Oborevwori and the State chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie.

Speaking on the significance of the meeting, Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, expressed confidence that Delta State will begin to enjoy its rightful share of federal opportunities and appointments under the coordinated leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

Dafinone however decried the long-standing fragmentation that had deprived Delta of deserved benefits from the federal government.

“Until April this year, federal positions and slots meant for Delta State were passing through multiple, often conflicting channels, and we were losing out because of that but that era is over. We now have one leader, a visionary leader directly connected to the federal government”, Dafinone assured.

Dafinone further underscored the importance of aligning with Governor Oborevwori’s leadership, noting that all official recommendations and petitions should henceforth be coordinated through the governor to ensure Delta’s effective representation and inclusion at the national level.

Dafinone’s remarks resonated strongly with participants. Mrs. Ejiro Osadebe, a women mobilizer from Ughelli, described his speech as “a message of renewed hope,” while former local government chairman Mr. Jude Akpofure called it “a timely call for unity and political discipline.”

At the meeting, members of the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) passed a vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori, affirming support for both leaders ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Senator Dafinone concluded by urging all factions within the APC to close ranks and work harmoniously under one leadership structure. “Unity is not optional,” he emphasized. “It remains the only path to political relevance and equitable reward.”

The meeting, according to political observers, marked a significant step toward consolidating the APC’s internal cohesion in Delta State and strengthening its interface with the federal government
