As the revered Royal Father of Okpe Kingdom, HRM Orhue I, Maj. Gen. Felix Mujakperuo (Rtd), the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, marks his 19th Anniversary on the throne, the Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ede Dafinone has said that peace and development have been the hallmark of the reign of the monarch.
Expressing this in a goodwill message to the royal father on the occasion of his 19th anniversary celebration on the Okpe throne, Senator Dafinone noted that his visionary leadership has not only attracted peace, unity and development to the kingdom, but to the entire Delta State and the country at large.
“Since your official ascension to the throne on July 29, 2006, Your Majesty has exemplified wisdom and visionary leadership,”
“Your reign has brought enduring peace, unity, and development to the Okpe Kingdom. The transformation of Orerokpe, the traditional headquarters of our great kingdom, stands as a visible and lasting testament to your commitment to progress and the good of our people”, the Senator noted.
Senator Dafinone who is also prominent chief from the Okpe kingdom, commended the monarch for his effort towards the promotion of peace, harmony and unity across the state, as chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council.
“As Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, the Orodje has served not only the Okpe people but the entire state with uncommon dignity, restraint, and courage.
“Your Majesty’s role as a custodian of culture and an advocate for peaceful coexistence has been instrumental in shaping a more stable and forward-looking Delta,” Dafinone noted.
The national lawmaker on behalf of the entire Delta Central Senatorial District, congratulated HRM Orhue I, the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, praying God to always imbue him with solomonic wisdom, good health and strength to attract more development to his subjects.
It would be recalled that Orerokpe which has been one of the oldest Local Government Headquarters in Delta State for nearly a century without notable development, has witnessed remarkable transformation since HRM Orhue I mounted the throne 19 years ago.
“Long live the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom. Umogu! Umogu!! Umogu!!! Une su tor, une re`tor!” Senator Dafinone concluded.
It would be recalled that Orerokpe, the oldest Local Government Headquarters from the days of western region till today, has been stagnated in terms of infrastructural development.
However, the ancient headquarters has become a cynosure of all eyes as it has witnessed a meteoric visitation of development since the past 19 years when HRM Orhue I, mounted the throne.
Today, there exists a network of macmadized roads, an ultra modern market, a fledging multi-disciplinary State University, upcoming banks and other financial institutions amud a growing population and a thriving real estate business associated with a booming economy.
To cap it up, the reign of HRM Orhue I has witnessed the emergence of a notable son of the kingdom, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, is currently the executive governor of the state.
