Delta Central Senatorial District APC, has unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori as sole party’s presidential and governorship candidates for 2027 respectively just as the State chairman of the party, Elder Omeni Sobotie has confirmed the divine providence in the governorship of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
Addressing thousands of party elders, leaders and stakeholders from across Delta Central Senatorial District who attended a Unity Meeting in Ughelli yesterday, June 8, 2025, Sobotie who is an Elder in Living Faith Ministry (aka Winners church), declared that the ascension of Elder Sheriff Oborevwori to the governorship of Delta State is ordained by God.
According to him, the fusion of PDP into
APC was a personal decision of Governor Oborevwori, adding although it led to the extinction of the party in the State, what God has joined together, no man can put asunder. He further stated that, going by the existing policy of the APC, every member, whether new or old, is entitled to the same rights and privileges.
“Today, we are gathered together to celebrate what has happened at the instance of God. When God decrees something, who can put it asunder? God brought the governor of the State, Elder Sheriff Oborevwori to come. It reminds me of what John Maxwell said. He said any time you want to multiply your block, go in search of leaders.
“Something strange took place in Delta in April 28 this year. What was it? A man took a decision and a party went into extinction in this state. Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, the conductor of the political orchestra in this state took a decision and PDP went into extinction. At all levels, PDP collapsed.
“And today we are here to celebrate what God has put together. I want to say that in APC, there was a policy in place before the event of April, 28. And the policy is this: all the rights and privileges due to the old are also due to the new. Your aspiration is controlled by your input. Your input determines the level you climb to”, he said.
The highpoint of the meeting however was the adoption and endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the sole presidential candidate of the APC and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, as sole governorship candidate of the party in 2027.
A chieftain of the APC from Jesse and former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rev. Francis Waive had moved the motion for the endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Gov Sheriff Oborevwori as the party sole candidates for presidency and governorship respectively in 2027.

“Our President met a very difficult economy when he took over in 2023. He boldly took some major difficult decisions that affected the economy of our great country. As an economist by training, I wish to tell the good people of Delta Central senatorial district that those hard decisions taken by Mr. President are about to start yielding fruits”, the Distinguished Senator noted.
Earlier, the Founding Leader of the APC in the State, Olorogun O’rtega Emerhor had expressed visible joy at the fusion of the two parties into one, stressing that the days of political violence in the State were gone.

Also in his remarks, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, stressed the need for unity among party members, adding that the purpose of the Unity Meeting, was actually to forge togetherness of party members in Delta Central.
According to the Minister, effort at uniting the members must be cascaded from the top to the lower rung of the party, stressing that the governor who is the number one leader of the party in the State has given a matching order that the party must be united at the Senatorial level, hence the Unity Meeting. He therefore urged every leader at the Local Government, Ward and Unit levels to go and replicate the concept of the unity meeting with a view to fully integrate both the old and the new members of the party.
He said: “Every single leader, to emphasize the matching order of our governor who said we should go and unite every single member in Delta Central.
