A PDP pressure group known as PDP Unity Group, for the actualization of the governorship candidate of Chief David Edevbie, today, met at the home of former House of Reps member, Hon. Daniel Reyeineju, Warri to Inaugurate the Delta South chapter.
The meeting which was well-attended by chieftains of the PDP from across Delta South and beyond resolved to mobilize support for Chief David Edevbie’s governorship candidacy for the PDP.
It would be recalled that a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja last month, in its judgment pronounced Chief David Edevbie as the authentic PDP governorship candidate for the 2023 election. This followed the Justice Taiwo Taiwo ruling nullifying the candidacy of Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori who emerged as the candidate from the primary conducted by party.
Although the Federal High Court judgment has been appealed at the Court of Appeal, by Hon. Oborevwori and awaiting judgment very soon, the Unity Group members have been meeting at different parts of the State mobilizing support for Edevbie who they believe will also get judgment from the Court of Appeal.
The Delta South chapter inaugurated today has former House of Representatives member for Warri Federal Constituency, Hon. Daniel Reyeineju as the leader.
