In the interest of a sustained growth and development across the the State there is the need for a peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and unity among the diversified ethnic nationalities.

This formed the core message delivered by the Honourable Member representing the Isoko Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Pastor Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko, on the occasion of the 5th annual coronation ceremony of the Pere of Tuomo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Justice Dr Francis Fedode Tabai, CON in Burutu Local Government Area.

Hon. Ukodhiko who was the chairman of the occasion, emphasized that there cannot be growth and development where there is no cohesion, cordial relationship and unity among the people of the State, adding that there is the need to rally round the Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, to move the state forward.

“The is the need to join hands with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to build a new Delta State based on improved friendly relationships among the people of different tribes and tongues, creeds, and religions is imperative.

“In view of the uniquely diversity of cultures and traditions of the heterogeneous Delta State, it is imperative to develop and sustain the spirit of tolerance and respect for others as we must see ourselves as brothers”, Ukodhiko emphasized.

The national lawmaker further stressed that he will not be tired of preaching the need for peace and unity within and outside the Isoko nation, adding that it incontestable that all ethnic groups across the state have a common ancestral history.

“I will continue to represent and preach, peace and unity passionately within the Isoko nation and Delta State, in line with the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. This is so because, all indigenous ethnic groups have a history of common or similar ancestry.

“I’m committed to bridge-building, because it is a sure way to enhance peace and foster lasting friendly relations between the Isoko people and their brothers of other ethnic nations in Delta State and Nigeria at large”, he noted.

He reiterated his commitment to development, peace and unity of the entire Isoko nation, adding that the concept of “Okugbe Isoko” forms the bedrock of his “desire to foster
brotherliness and unity among the Isoko people.”

Earlier, Hon. Pastor Ukodhiko has eulogized the sterling leadership of the Tuomo monarch, describing him as an exemplary Royal Father whose kingdom has continued to witness peace and progress.

He prayed to God to grant the monarch more wisdom and good health to rule over his kingdom.
