The importance of unity as a panacea for a meaningful development of the Isoko nation has been emphasized.

This was the view expressed by the House of Representatives member representing the Isoko Federal Constituency, Hon. Pastor Jonathan Ukodhiko, in a meeting with the leadership of Isoko National Youth Assembly and Isoko Development Union-Youth Wing which took place in his country home Erawha-Owhe country, Isoko North Local Government Area recently.

The national lawmaker urged the youth bodies led by Comrade Eniwake Orogun and Comrade Iraroraina Obokpaino to unite strongly behind the Isoko political leadership, just as he applauded the entire youth for the empowerment and advocacy of the development of the Isoko nation. According to him, “Delta State Government is in support of the unity of Isoko nation and a single, unified youth body.”

Hon. Ukodhiko however assured the youths of his commitment towards more empowerment, adding that he will also ensure they are part of his representation and the good governance of the Isoko nation.

“This is the first time, I am having a meeting with the two different youth bodies in Isoko nation. I must thank you people sincerely for the support given to me and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori during the last general elections that saw to our emergence.

“Also, I must commend you for your various slogans of your bodies which are about the betterment of our Isoko-nation.

“I must say, the only way we can truly move forward and fight for the development of our people is for us to be united. Yes, for we must know, that, division tears people apart.

“I must also urge you people to have more synergies and interact more often as you people have a lot to gain from the engagements.

“Let us try as a people to promote the good ideas, and interests of Isoko nation always just as it’s important for us to discontinue pulling our people down, especially our leaders”, the federal lawmaker stressed.

In his remarks, Senior Special Assistant on Petroleum Monitoring to the Delta State Governor, Hon Mike Ogwah, solicited the cooperation of the youths for Ukodhiko in order to bring more dividends to the people of Isoko.

Responding, the duo of Comrades Orogun and Obokpaino commended Hon Ukodhiko for the meeting, adding that his quality representation has uplifted the status of the Isoko nation to national limelight.

They however advocated that the Isoko political should lead the efforts of the unity of Isoko nation, adding that they should carry the youth along in critical decision making.
