Towards 2027: Warri-Urhobo APC Adopts Tinubu, Oborevwori, Sets Up 8-man Leadership Council

Warri-Urhobo All Progressive Congress, (APC) members (both old and new from PDP) have unanimously adopted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori as the party presidential and governorship flag-bearers for 2027 general election respectively.

The adoption which took place during a Unity Meeting held on Thursday July 24, 2025 at Peggy Hotel, Warri was also an occasion for the setting up of the leadership structure of the party which witnessed a top chieftain and former Commissioner of Finance in the State, Olorogun Bernard Okumagba, emerging as the chairman/leader of the party in the area whilst Chief Israel Abido emerged as Vice Chairman/Deputy Leader.

Other leaders of the party include: Chief (Hon.) Benson Obire; Rev. David Otofia; Chief Vincent Okudolor; Chief Victor Okumagba; Chief Mark Ikpuri and Hon Matthew Opuoru.

Warri-Urhobo controls over 6 wards out of the 12 wards in Warri South Local Government Area.

High point of the meeting was a 4-point resolution adopted by the well-attended Unity Meeting, which included: 1) the commitment of all Warri-Urhobo APC members to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) and Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori; 2) Urging all members to work together in unity and stand firm to protect Warri-Urhobo interests at all times; 3) Leaders pledging to work together to ensure that Warri-Urhobo gets its fair share of positions whenever the Party Congresses are going to be held; and 4) Leaders pledging to ensure that Warri Urhobo people get at all times our fair share of what is due to us at the Warri South LGA Level, the Delta South Senatorial District Level, the Delta State Level and in the Nigerian Federation.

In attendance at the meeting, are Olorogun Bernard Okumagba, Chief (Hon) Benson Obire, Chief Peter Agiri,
Chief Coach Obire, Chief Westham Adehor, Chief Goddy Onotor, Hon. Gabriel Okandeji and Mr. Davies Akhigbe.
