The people of Ijomi Community in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State have every cause to celebrate as they savour for that first time, the availability of potable water in the area.
DeltaVoice gathered that the provision of potable water was part of the community projects being embarked on by the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, attracted to the hitherto underserved area, through the representative effort of Rt. Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.
While the people of Ijomi are already visibly elated as the project is nearing completion, marking a significant milestone in the improvement of the quality of their health and, indeed, their lives, officials and members of the Ibori-Suenu Grassroots Network, ISGN were also held in awe as they showered encomium on their principal, Hon. Erhiatake whose uncommon style representation attracted the NDDC to embark in the project.
It would be recalled that for decades, the community of Ijomi had clamoured without desired attention, for basic amenities, including potable water, which had remained a major constraint to their daily living.
But today the intervention NDDC made possible though the uncommon representation of Rt. Hon.Erhiatake has not only changed the narrative, but also given the people of Ijomi Community a new social status among communities in the LGA.
Comrade Isiosio Ufuoma James, Media Executive, accompanied by “Doctor” Muchin Ogini and Okorodeden Philips – all officials of ISGN who visited the site on routine inspection, expressed satisfaction with the level of work done, adding that it has exceeded 80 percent completion.
They expressed profound gratitude to Ethiope Federal Constituency’s representative, Rt Hon Erhiatake Ibori -Suenu and reaffirmed the community’s unwavering support for her future political aspirations. They also urged the contractor to expedite completion, as residents eagerly await immediate use of the facility.
The Amazon of the Niger Delta has been very passionate about the welfare of her constituents since she was overwhelmingly elected to represent the good people of Ethiope Federal Constituency for three years now in the Green chamber .
Speaking with our correspondent in phone recently, the Director of Media ISGN (Ibori Suenu Grassroots Network. Ofa Henry Ogheneochuko PhD JP, stressed that the solar-water project is just one among many impactful initiatives executed or facilitated by the representative, noting that she has facilitated several top notch projects including foreign scholarships opportunities, road constructions, streets lighting, healthcare facilities, free medical outreach programmes, town hall projects, and financial support for community development.
Chief Dr. Ofa who also exemplified astute representative leadership while he was a Commissioner representing Ethiope West, Sapele and Okpe Local Government Areas in DESOPADEC some years ago, expressed profound joy upon hearing the news of the project.
He joined the entire community in fervently appreciating the representative for a job well done, while offering prayers for good health, wisdom, and continued strength to deliver more impactful
The ISGN Pressure Political Group and constituents have therefore reaffirmed their readiness to support the representative as she prepares for the next phase of electioneering. They expressed strong confidence in her capacity to deliver even greater dividends of democracy if given another mandate.
The solar-powered nature of the project makes it particularly unique, as it guarantees a steady water supply without dependence on electricity. This ensures access to water 24/7 in the fast-growing community, eliminating previous fears associated with power outages.
“If these achievements are possible within less than three years, one can only imagine the transformation that lies ahead with another term,” the. ISGN group stated.
