It was an suspicious moment of recognition and respect on Monday, October 28, 2025, as Senator Ede Dafinone representing Delta Central Senatorial District, joined dignitaries and top police officers in the occasion of the official decoration of former AIG Mohammed Dankwara as Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG).
The ceremony which took place in Abuja, reflected not just a change in rank, but a recognition and celebration of fruitful years of service and sacrifice within the Nigeria Police Force.
In his congratulatory message, Senator Dafinone described DIG Dankwara’s promotion as a product of Professionalism, dedication to duty and steadfastness, adding that it is a reflection of a remarkable career and ardent commitment to responsibility.
“Congratulations to DIG Mohammed Dankwara on this well-earned promotion, which reflects not only his personal achievements but also the values of integrity and dedication that our Police Force stands for.
“This well-deserved elevation reflects his remarkable career and his unshakable commitment to protecting lives and property.
“It also reaffirms the Police Service Commission’s resolve to promote merit and excellence above all else”, he noted.
Popularly called the Super Senator by his constituents, Dafinone expressed confidence that DIG Dankwara would bring his wealth of experience to bear in strengthening the Force’s leadership and boosting public confidence in policing.
“Leadership at the top determines the trust the public has in our institutions,” he noted, adding that “I believe DIG Dankwara will continue to lead by example and inspire younger officers across the country.”
Senator Dafinone concluded by extending his warm congratulations once again to the newly decorated DIG, wishing him continued success and strength as he takes on greater national responsibilities.
