Hon. Owhofa Spencer, member representing Ughelli North Constituency 2, in the State House of Assembly, has described Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State as the best Governor in the country in terms of performance.
Hon. Owhofa who stated this while responding to questions in a phone-in programme with Kpoko FM programme, Effurun today, August 23, 2025, commended the governor for the approval for construction of a flyover bridge in Otovwodo junction in Ughelli just as he urged people to continue to support the governor.
“In terms of performance, Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori is the best governor in the country. His works are everywhere. They speak for themselves.
“You can see that the flyover bridge he announced to be constructed in Ughelli, if you get there now, you will see Julius Berger has started carrying out survey job there. It is in my Constituency and I’m very happy for it.
“So, the governor is doing very well and I’m urging the people to support him to do more in accordance with his MORE Agenda”, he stated.
The member representing Ughelli Constituency 2 specifically mentioned the rehabilitation, renovation and expansion of a huge water project sited in Ighwrerovie community, which he is commissioning today.
The project, according to him, which has been sited in the community has not been functioning over time, adding that he expanded water project to include solar power source to ensure regular supply of water to the community.
“The project I’m commissioning today is a water project sited in Ighwrerovie but it was no longer functioning. So, I took it up because it is in my Constituency for me to rehabilitate and renovate it to include solar power source.
“During my political campaigns, the indigenes drew my attention to it that their water project was no longer working. And I promised to fix it if I win my election. To God be the glory I won the election and I said that I must fulfill my promises to my constituents. That was why I decided to take it up”, he said.
Hon. Spencer also mentioned the provision of mono-pumps for potable water in several other communities in his Constituency.
“I have carried out some other projects in my Constituency which were part of my electioneering promises to my people. One of such projects that actually touched my heart was in Okoravwe village behind Delta Glass Company. They had no source of water at all. When I visited the village during my campaign I noticed that they source their water supply from wells. So, I took it upon myself to fix mono-water pumps for them.
“I did it quietly without announcing it but when I completed it, the community called on me to come and commission it. I commissioned it and they were very happy. I was also very happy that I did it for them.
“I also executed water project in a street called Emurotu in Oteri community Ughelli. They had a water scheme that was no more functional. I also went there and fix mono-pumps to provide potable water for them.
“Not only that, there is a quarter called Egbo in Ughweru kingdom that had no source of water. They had to cross the busy East-West expressway to fetch water. When I noticed that during my campaign, I said no, it is too risky to cross the road for water. I also fix mono-pumps for them.
“So, it is a thing of joy that I can fulfill my electioneering promises to my constituents in line with the MORE Agenda of the governor, His Excellency, Sheriff Oborevwori”, Hon. Owhofa noted.
