Ethiope West, East APC Leaders, Stakeholders Unite, Endorse Erhiatake For 2027 As Amori, Others Say Primary Is Done Deal

Ahead of the APC House of Representatives primary taking place in Asaba on the 16/05/2026 Leaders and Stakeholders of the party from Ethiope Federal Constituency have unanimously endorsed Rt. Hon. Mrs. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu for a second term in 2027.

This is even as party leaders from across the two Local Government Areas including Chief Ighoyota Amori, Hon. Ben Ignakpa, Chief Bernard Edewor, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo (Deputy Speaker DTHA), Hon. Halims Agoda, Elder Love Ojakovo, Olorogun Barr. John Nani and others have stated that the primary, and ultimate election to the House of Reps, Ethiope Federal Constituency have been concluded.

At a well-attended Grand Declaration ceremony which took place at the Oghara Township Stadium, yesterday, 14/05/2026, where the Amazon of Ethiope Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu declared her interest for a second term, leaders and stakeholders of the APC from the federal constituency declared satisfaction with her performance at the Green Chamber in her current first term, and they have unanimously endorsed the Amazon for a second tenure in 2027.

In declaring her interest to run and return to the Green Chamber in 2027, Hon. Erhiatake thanked Leaders, elders and all stakeholders of the APC from the two Local Government Areas that constitute the Ethiope Federal Constituency. She commended the governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for his intervention to restore peace and unity in Ethiope Federal Constituency.

She also thanked the President, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Governor of Delta State, and His Excellency, James Ibori (who is her father).

“Today is a historic day. A day when the Great Ethiope came together in unity. The day they came together to shame our enemy. The day they came together to speak in one voice. Why wouldn’t I be happy?

“Today, I, Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu stand before you to seek your permission to go back to the Green Chamber. I did everything possible to carry Urhobo forward. And as I stand here, I’m a proud Urhobo daughter.

“I can tell you as I’m standing here that for the first time, a first time member like me has become the chairman, House Committee of NDDC.

“So, I’m pleading with you that you send me back again to continue with the good work”, she submitted.

In his remarks, Chief Ighoyota Amori recalled that recently, the party leaders in the Federal Constituency signed a bond to work together in unity, adding that today is the re-affirmation of the agreement they had from that meeting

“Few weeks ago, we came here and we signed a bond. And I said this is my beloved daughter in whom I’m well pleased. We have come today to re-affirmed that.

“Election is over in Ethiope Federal Constituency. It has been destined to happen and it is going to happen. We are through with our election. Tomorrow is supposed to be the primary but it is going to be a walkover.

“The calibre of persons we are seeing here today both from Ethiope East and Ethiope West confirms that the entire totality of Ethiope Federal Constituency is in her support. Every election in this Constituency is carry go.

‘Our President is carry go. Our governor is carry go. Our Senator is carry go, our House of Reps is carry go, our House of Assembly is carry go” Chief Amori said.

Former House of Representatives member for the same Federal Constituency, Hon. Ben Igbakpa also re-affirmed his support for Hon. Erhiatake’s interest for a second term when he said:

“Today is a great day. I told my younger sister yesterday that today history is going to be made. Today, we are replicating performance. Today, we are standing for growth, today we are standing for unity. Today, Ethiope Federal Constituency has spoken, I have spoken, you have spoken. We’re sending her back”, Igbakpa said.

Chief Bernard Edewor also declared that “Today, is a great day. Nobody can stop her, nobody can stop her in Jesus name”.

And the Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo thanked the governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for his effort at restoring peace and unity in Ethiope Federal Constituency, adding that whatever they were celebrating was aftermath of the unity meeting initiated by the Governor.

“I thank His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State for his peace and unity to Ethiope Federal Constituency. What we are enjoying today is as a result of the intervention of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori to bring peace and unity to Ethiope people.

“Let us work together in unity and win in unity in 2027”, he said just as he lifted the hand of Hon. Erhiatake’s hands in apparent endorsement.

Other leaders who expressed their support for Hon. Erhiatake include the APC chairman for Delta Central, Chief P.D.O. Akpeki, Elder Love Ojakovo, Olorogun Barr. John Nani, Hon. Halims Agoda, Chief Judith Enamuotor, the Director of Protocol to the governor, Hon. Sunday Onoriode, Hon. Chris Omogba, Chief Dr. Makinde, Dr. Henry Ofa, amongst several other leaders.
