In the spirit of the season, the lawmaker representing Ethiope West, Ethiope East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu has joined Muslim faithful in Ethiope West LGA to celebrate this year’s Eid Mubarak, marking the event with the distribution of palliatives and food items to support the celebrants.
The national lawmaker who was represented by her Senior Aide and Ethiope West Local Government Coordinator of the ISGN, Comrade Favour Ededey, used the occasion to distribute bags of rice and other items in demonstration of solidarity with the Muslim faithful in the spirit of love, tolerance, peace, love.and shared prosperity for the season.
In her message to the celebrants, the lawmaker conveyed her heartfelt greetings to the Muslim community, praying for continued unity, protection, and blessings from Allah.
Hon. Ibori-Suenu noted that “leadership is a responsibility to all people”, stating that every resident within the constituency, irrespective of ethnicity, religion, or location, deserves equal attention, care, and access.
The Amazon further “urged the Muslim faithful to continue to live in peace and harmony with their neighbors”, noting that the constitution guarantees equality and freedom for all citizens.
She used the occasion to express her policy of accessibility, encouraging her constituents to always reach out whenever the need arises, just as she maintain her unwavering commitment and dedication to the service of everyone without discrimination.
It is noteworthy that this act of goodwill is part of a long-standing tradition of empathy and service by the Representative.
She extends similar gestures to the Christian community during the Christmas celebrations, in demonstration of her belief in one united constituency built on mutual respect and shared values.
Beyond festive support, her contributions to the Muslim community also include the provision of essential social amenities such as water and electricity to their quarters.
Responding to the solidarity ad gesture, the Chief Imam of Oghara Central Mosque, Alhaji Adamu Aqsani, expressed profound appreciation for the Representative’s consistent support.
He described the gesture as sincere and in good faith, adding that it was indeed a reflection of genuine goodwill and commitment to the people.
The cleric prayed for Allah’s continued blessings upon the Representative, assuring her of the unwavering support of the Muslim community, now and beyond 2027.
In the same vein, the Director of Media for the ISGN, Dr Ofa Henry commended the Representative Mrs. Erhiatake Suenu for her usual compassionate outreach, praying for greater strength, resources, and good health to enable her to continue serving the people effectively.
Dr. Ofa also expressed profound appreciation for the efforts of the ISGN Ethiope West Coordinator Comrade Ededey and other media aides, including Comrade Omadidi Andrew who represented the lawmaker the Amazon and ensured the successful delivery of the message to the Muslim community in record time and peacefully.
